Runa’s Story
Runa Nelson currently lives in Southern Alabama. Originally from Northern California, she made the move south a few years ago and insists she'll never go back.
Though she officially joined the online reading community in 2020, stories have always been her first love. What began as a passion for reading eventually grew into a desire to create worlds of her own—dark, emotional places where readers can confront monsters both fictional and real.
As someone living with chronic illness, Runa is no stranger to doctors, hospitals, and difficult days. Those experiences, alongside her own journey with trauma and CPTSD, heavily influence her writing. Her goal as an author is to create stories that help both herself and her readers process pain, reclaim power, and finally close chapters that no longer serve them so new ones can begin.
When she isn't writing, you'll likely find her surrounded by dark romance novels, horror stories, and all things delightfully macabre. She has a soft spot for gothic aesthetics, occult curiosities, skeleton keys, ravens, bats, octopuses, skulls, candlelight, and anything that feels like it belongs in a forgotten library or a haunted manor.
Above all, Runa hopes her readers find a safe place within her stories—a place where they can feel seen, understood, and never judged.
